Path of Exile: Synthesis Is Now Live - Broken Memories and Lost Secrets

Path of Exile: Synthesis adds a new Challenge League in which players build their own dungeon by assembling different puzzle pieces together.

The main NPC of this expansion is Cavas, a character that will open a portal to one of his memories. This will take us to a full side map of monsters. Unlike the previous expansions, in this the memories will be around the player. In this way, our goal will be to stabilize the memory before it is completely lost. To do this, you must tag the keywords before it is too late. And if you succeed, you will be rewarded with a fragment of memory.

These memories are then used in the Memory Nexus. This is a kind of floating center where you must insert the fragments into a memory map. Each fragment can only be aligned with others in certain ways and contains random modifiers. The goal is to organize the fragments in a way that  create paths that lead to other pieces of memory. Memories can contain fractured items that contain a permanently fixed mod. Fractured items can also be used to synthesize a new item base with a special implicit mod.

All characters and stashes will be moved to Standard league and Hardcore league respectively when the leagues end. Characters that die in the Hardcore Synthesis league are immediately moved to the permanent Standard league.

In addition, Synthesis also brings a boatload of tweaks to all existing spells, changing Brands to be slightly less overpowered while buffing other options. More importantly, reworks to skills like Storm Burst and Flame Totem are also live. If that weren't enough, you have tons of new skills like Bane, Divine Ire, Purifying Flame, and much more to fool around with.
