Playing Black Desert Online for the first time can sometimes be overwhelming for newbies. There is so much to learn, but also so many new sights and adventures to discover! Therefore we Joymmo.com has created this Beginners Guide to help those just starting BDO, and for MMORPG fans considering a purchase of Cheap Black Desert Online Silver.
Best Class
"Which class should I play" or "What is the best class" are genuine concerns for many people starting out with BDO. Choosing the right class for you is a very personal decision. Do you like complexity or simple? Speed or slow and heavy hitting? What's important to someone else, you may not even think about. From the very start, I would recommend you check out all the Black Desert Online classes awakening videos and get the feel on how each and every class feels and looks like. The videos are short but adequately present all the classes, so make sure to check these out first. It is always important to play by the choice of your heart and decide upon a class that will be fun to you. As beginners, if you are looking for the easiest class to play, many recommend Witch or Wizard.
Quests
Unlike most games, you don't level your character by doing quests. You level only by defeating enemies. Quests are still very important because they give you things like Contribution points, skill experience, extra inventory slots, and more.
There are several different types of quests for players to earn experience, currency and loot in Black Desert Online. There are Combat Quests, Life Skill (Trade skill) Quests, Trading (Transport) Quests, and Exploration Quests. Until Level 20, you're only able to see and do Combat Quests. At Level 20, you can change your filters in the Quest window to make other quests visible. It doesn't take long to get to 20.
Family
In BDO you will have a "family", which is your group of characters. They're all considered members of whatever family name you choose at the very start, and the family name shows above each character along with their character name. Letters, numbers, and optionally an underscore in the middle. You can change it later with a cash shop purchase. Items can be bound to your family, allowing you to freely swap them between characters via storage. Others are bound to your character. These can never be put down by your character. They are always equipped in main inventory, or disposed of. Cash shop items have a separate inventory tab, though.
Knowledge and Amity you build up, houses and furniture you own, storage contents, workers, unlocked areas and nodes, and mounts are all shared among your family/characters. Energy, inventory, quest progress, and skill progress are not. Other stuff is pretty clear when you get to it.
Combat
Combat in Black Desert Online is a lot more skill-based than in other MMORPGs. You can move freely about, you have real aiming, and you can control the field as you would in an action game. This means that you can’t just rely on a hotbar, and you will actually have to hit enemies.
On the flip side, that also means that they have to actually hit you as well.Use this to your advantage at all times. Run around, take the high ground if you’re a ranged fighter, use dodge (Shift key), or any maneuver abilities at your disposal. You don't have to get hit, so if you have the skill, make them pay.
Energy
Energy is another type of currency in the game which allow you to use Life Skills like Gathering and Farming. Maximum Energy is increased when any character you play completes Knowledge topics. Your Energy and Knowledge gained is shared across all your characters (Family).
The easiest Knowledge topic to complete is the Character type, in which you have to talk to the NPC to gain their Knowledge. Talk to every NPC with a question mark on your mini map to discover them and gain Knowledge. Press the H key to see a breakdown of all the Knowledge to be gained.Energy can be actively restored through quest rewards. Energy can also be increased with potions and buffs; most notable is Blessing of Kamasylve, which increases Energy regeneration by 2. It costs 1000 Loyalties (10 days of logging in for one hour) or 1,250 Pearls. ($12.50). Small energy tonics cost 100 Loyalties.
